About YABONG
YABONG Philippines is a non-stock, non-profit youth-led organization that promotes youth participation in governance, Media and Information Literacy, and nation-building.
"Yabong" the Filipino word for prosperous, interchangeably used with progress, is the term to describe the volume of youth leaders in a wide range of advocacies.
Composed of 9 core members and 12 volunteers, we exemplify that by embodying our 3 cornerstones, which are to THINK, EMBARK, and CREATE.

THINK
Always Think Before You Click.
As readers, writers, and mere audience, we need to develop critical thinking skills to assess whether or not the information we consume is credible. In YABONG, we teach youth participants to always think before they click! We do this by incorporating MIL into our programs such as leadership camps and mentorship programs that promote critical thinking skills. These programs taught us the power of youth-to-youth conversations as the best way to give awareness on our digital rights, encourage citizen participation on digital platforms, and inculcate media and information competencies.
EMBARK
Together Let Us Foster Growth.
We need to encourage the youth to speak up for those who are voiceless, stand up against those who are oppressed, and spark change for those who are indifferent. This is done through digital campaigns that aim to reach as many communities as we can. One of them is about how to fight fake news entitled, ‘Spot the Fake, Stop the Fake’.
CREATE
Creation of Digital Campaigns, Projects and Activities
From there, we can have a community where we can create dialogue and foster collaboration. These two things are quintessential in a culture of well-informed and responsible netizens. A culture where stories are heard and voices will not remain in the margins.
WHAT WE OFFER?
Yabong is committed to empowering the next generation by equipping them with essential 21st-century skills. We believe that these young individuals must have the knowledge and practical skills necessary to prepare them for success in today's fast-paced and ever-evolving world.
